Peter Wüthrich overlays, juxtaposes, and assembles books, from which he also creates delicate butterfly shapes, constructing a parallel universe made up of references, images, and evocations. Unlike the writer, who creates worlds through words, Wüthrich surprises with the manual dexterity of a sculptor and the chromatic sensitivity of a painter. At the heart of his work lies a rigorous methodological coherence that guides free associations between objects, forms, colors, characters, and places - whether real or imaginary. Through a precise poetic and formal project, the artist deconstructs and recomposes meanings and relationships, generating new connections between different languages and expressive systems.
Peter Wüthrich has been working with Christian Stein since 2001.
Peter Wüthrich lives and works in Interlaken, Switzerland. His works revolve around the book as a medium of expression. In his poetic vision, books are distinguished above all by their ambiguity, within which their legibility and traditional function are constantly negated, without, however, calling into question their status as books.
