PETER WÜTHRICH

HALL 2.0

STAND F16

(1962, Bern)

This artwork was first exhibited in 2009 at Galleria Christian Stein. It was then presented in 2013 at the Flash Art Event in Milan, and again during the artist's retrospective at Galleria Christian Stein in Milan in 2019. The book is seen as a plastic device by the artist. In this sense, it is considered from its sculptural elements, which are so evidently characterized by the content-related dimension of the volumes used for the creation of the work.

Peter Wüthrich has been working with Christian Stein since 2001.

On view: Peter Wüthrich - Retrospective at Christian Stein, Milan 2019

Peter Wüthrich lives and works in Interlaken, Switzerland. His works focus on the medium of the book. In Wüthrich’s works, books are, in fact, characterized much more by their ambiguity, within which their legibility and their traditional function has been consistently denied without questioning their status as books.

His work is part of important collections including:

Fondation pour l’art contemporain Salomon, Annecy; Collection Croix Rouge, Monaco; Kunsthalle & Kunstverein Bremerhaven; Karlsruhe Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten, Marl; Kunstsammlung des Deutschen Bundestages, Berlin; MART, Museo d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto; CGAC Centro Galego de Arte Contemporanea, Santiago de Compostela; Warwick Arts Centre, Coventry; UMCA University Museum of Contemporary Art, Amherst; Magazzino Italian Art, Cold Spring/New York; Kunstsammlung Helvetia Versicherungen, Basel; Kunstsammlung Hoffmann- La Roche, Basel; Kunstsammlung des Kantons Bern.
